I’ve been using Pet Poppins for many years now to assist with training various dogs. Claire has helped me teach my two rescue Spanish podencos all the basics they require, as well as much more in a fun environment for both pupper and human. I’ve done additional classes with one of my dogs to work towards to IMDT grades and wouldn’t go to anyone else. Very professional and friendly with an absolute wealth of knowledge. I've attended group classes with Claire and one on one sessions. The group classes are very informative and well structured to allow a dog to socialise whilst remaining under threshold. Claire is very understanding of dogs with complex needs and behaviours such as reactivity and leash frustration and she helped us exponentially in the early days following our adoption of our rescue labrador. The one on one sessions really helped us to learn how to communicate better with our dog and understand his body language, and also increased my confidence as a handler to enable us to continue to progress each day. I've gone from having a dog that I could barely handle on a walk to a dog that's my best friend who I can take anywhere with me and he's a pleasure to walk and great company for a swift pint in the pub mid adventure. We attended both puppy classes and 1:1 training with Claire for our little terror Ronnie! She has really allowed us to build confidence when out and about with our very reactive schnauzer. Claire came to me after I requested advice for a puppy who was showing resource guarding habits. Claire came with a mountain of knowledge and looked at all aspects of my puppies habits, behaviour and lifestyle. The training strategies have worked wonderfully, and at each session Claire spent time supporting and demonstrating moving forward with improving this behaviour so it didn't become a habit. I was fortunate enough to adopt a dog earlier this year . I knew beforehand  she was highly reactive and also having owned the same breed previously I was quite aware that she came with a high prey drive !!! However, there came a  time when I knew I needed help .My dogs well being and happiness is  my upmost priority , so after a lot of research I finally found Claire who met my high standards  of being an ethical trainer.  The exercises I was taught and the way things were broken down so it was easy to understand was a huge eye opener for me. I feel that all of this ,over the last 5 months, has completely transformed my dogs life for the better and we now have a deeper bond and understanding of one another.Claire also helped me in my decision to totally overhaul and change my dogs diet and the difference in her is phenomenal. Claire is ever the professional , confident and calming in her nature .when you have a reactive dog and struggle daily , a calming person is exactly what you need to help guide you . Claire not only helped me to train my dog ,she also helped  me to overcome my anxieties .I'm sure that claire being the humble woman she is would just see this as doing her job but for me and Dizzy it's so much more.she has given me confidence and shown me ways on how I can carry on evolving my relationship with my dog in the future . I've had 3 sessions of dog training with Claire and the difference in Lucy (my dog) was exceptional. From having more or less no recall, even after the first session and Claire teaching me so much, I could tell a huge difference in Lucy's behaviour. She is literally like a different dog.
